Mission Trail Waste System is proud to provide trash and recycling collection services to Santa Clara businesses!
Santa Clara businesses are encouraged to make the most of our recycling collection program. All franchised commercial businesses are eligible for a free 96 gallon toter, and larger sizes are available for a fee.
Mission Trail representatives are available to visit local businesses to make suggestions regarding how to reduce waste and increase recycling, and make sure that appropriate collection service is arranged. Helpful training materials are also provided.
Business/commercial customers in areas zoned for commercial use, should contact us for current trash and recycling rates and program assistance.

WHY IS ORGANIC WASTE GOING INTO THE GARBAGE?
The City of Santa Clara now provides mixed waste processing to franchised customers automatically with their trash service.
Mixed waste processing allows organic material to be separated from trash before going to the landfill. The organic material captured by mixed waste processing will be taken to a composting facility to meet state requirements for organics diversion from the landfill.
I ALREADY HAVE AN ORGANICS OR FOOD SCRAP BIN. WHERE SHOULD I PUT ORGANIC WASTE?
You may continue to use your food scrap or organics bin, but these services are no longer mandatory for any of our customers. You are now compliant with state law automatically through the new mixed waste processing agreement.
HAZARDOUS WASTE HAS ITS PLACE
Hazardous waste does NOT belong in any of the Mission Trail Waste System collection bins. Please call the Santa Clara County Household Hazardous Waste line at 408-299-7300 for information on proper disposal of items like paint, car batteries, fluorescent bulbs, toxic cleaners, poisons, sharps and treated wood.
